weight loss

Hello everybody.

The issue of weight loss has been discussed widely on many many forums, articles, etc.

I would like to add a few more things:

We all know that this subject is so popular because it deals with the issue of addictions, and as such one-it offers many challanges for us, therapists and clients.

In the last EFT  WS in LA this January, it was well understood by all of us, that removing the addiction for the substance, will only work as a make-over, while addressing the emotional pain, will do the deep job and allow Emotional Freedom.

My biggest success (and my clien"s, of course) was freedom from Binge Eating.

Well, let me tell you that we hardely dealt with the "FOOD" . We only tapped for emotional aspects and that worked amizingly.

I believe that the "technique" has to differ from one client to another, as the process is so individial, and there is NOT one program that will work the same for two people.

Never the less, I combined many techniques, and that was the key.

Working with guided imagery, painting, using physical movement, all with tapping, along with the variety of EFT techniques we all know.

By using this wide "selection" of approaches, one is able to access information that is logged in different parts of the body, mind and spirit.

AS I wrote before-from my experience, that works wonderful.

I wish you all great success and abundance

with love

Addictions are cunning and often transfer to other areas. Personal experience has shown that the treatment of addictions goes far beyond the application of a variety of techniques. Applying techniques is but one aspect of a therapy and not to be confused for the therapy as a whole. A therapist may "succeed" in dissolving the emotional pain of an active addiction in a specific area however, there are other facets of addictions that may soon surface and follow ups are required to understand multiple perspectives and the tall order of longterm effective treatment of addiction.

Hello

Of course, addictions should be treated deeply and completely...

I assume you have not understood what I meant-variety of techniqes is not a superficial easy going treatment.

I am talking of a deep process, but suggested and shared my experience-that EFT should be used in a creative manner, addressing different levels of ones being.

I hope this helps

I am not qualified to diagnose addictive behavior or symptoms.  As an EFTer, my job is to listen to what is coming from my client, feed this information through my intuitive channel - allowing what's behind what they may be saying to emerge and lead us on a path.  I'm also keenly aware when approaching an addiction that a client must be oriented towards a process of recovery... this is also true of anyone seeking help.

The guest above sounds concerned that we are never done with addictive behavior -  that it must always be within the greater context/ process of therapy.  I agree to a point, but what if I'm the only person with whom they are seeking help.  What if it's just me and their minister or their AA group?  I do agree with llana - working on the emotional componants or beliefs as they arise is the surest way to completely handle all the aspects/drivers of an addiction.  Of course, everyone is different - and I know from experience that a person has to be open to the possibility of letting go of their addiction (i.e their best answer for something) in order for EFT to be effective at all. Of course, EFT can help orient them in this direction, but they have to be ready to do it and take the necessary steps.  Do I think that a person struggling with addiction needs all the help they can get - including support, therapy and followup? absolutely! Does a person who is seeking help on a variety of levels have a better shot at staying clean?  I think so.

EFT is not a magic pill.  If the person is approaching it that way, it's a huge piece of information.
